33rd Plenary Session of INTUC has started today at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi which will end on 23rd February, 2023. The session of the first day started with lighting the lamp by INTUC President Dr G Sanjeeva Reddy and Indian National Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge along with other Senior leaders both from INC and INTUC and foreign delegates of ITUC.
In his speech, Sri Kharge stressed upon Protecting, Resolving and Organising the workers. He said that the current regime under PM Modi is regularly making the mockery of democracy. He is trying to push the working people who are the 40% of population into conditions of Modern Slavery by abolishing the old labour laws and introducing new labour codes which are absolutely undemocratic and anti-people legislations passing through a voice vote with the help of a brute majority at the parliament. He also said that the government is attacking on the basic structure of the Constitution. In his speech, he seemed to be worried with the Unholy Nexus of the Government and few Crony Corporates. He said that the only Hope of the Nation is Trade Union Unity. He thanked INTUC and said that INTUC has always played the role as Agents of Social Change and fought for the working class. He assured that the efforts made by INTUC Leaders should be given due importance in Congress Party.
Congress MP Sri Digvijay Singh, Ex-MP and Minister Dr (Maharaja) Karan Singh, Ex-Secretary, AICC and former Minister Tariq Anwar were present among the dignitaries.
It was a huge gathering at the Talkatora Stadium fully filled up with the leaders, General Council Members and Delegates from all over the country. INTUC WB Branch President M Qamruzzaman Qamar was present along with his efficient team of State Office Bearers and delegates. All the other State Presidents were also present at the venue.
The VPs Sri Ashok Singh, Sri R C Khuntia, Dr M Raghavaiya, Sri C P Singh and General Secretary of the Organisation Sri Sanjay Kumar Singh along with other dignitaries were present at the dias.
