Jatiya Jiban Bima Karmachari Samity organised their 2nd Women & Youth Convention and Panel Discussion today, the 14th January, 2023

Jatiya Jiban Bima Karmachari Samity (Affiliated with INTUC) organised their 2nd Women & Youth Convention and Panel Discussion today, the 14th January, 2023 at Rotary Sadan, Kolkata.

The Chief Guest of the said program was M Qamruzzaman Qamar, the President, INTUC West Bengal Branch.

The panellists and other eminent dignitaries present were Smt Mita Chakraborty (AICC Media Panelist and Entrepreneur), Smt Deepshikha Bhowmick (State Coordinator, KKC and HR Strategist), Dr Suparna Ghosh Bhattacharjee (Associate Professor, Loreto College, Kolkata), Sreeja Mukherjee (Consultant Psychologist and Social Worker), Manas Banerjee (General Secretary and Media Coordinator, INTUC, Bengal Branch), Smt Anjali Mukherjee (Ex-President, Women INTUC), Sri Binod Sharma ( President, Eastern Rail Men’s Union), Sri Sanjay Chakraborty (General Secreatry, Jatiya Jiban Bima Karmachari Samity), Sri Sourav Kundu, Secretary and Media Co-Coordinator, INTUC West Bengal Branch), Sayesta Quadir, Organising Secretary INTUC-WB and others.

The program was started with felicitating the guests and lighting the lamp by the dignitaries.

In his inaugural speech, Sri Qamar praised the organisers of the event for organising such a colourful program that too by the women members of the organisation. He emphasised that women should come forth and join hands with their male counterparts in every sphere of life, be it in office or in politics. He also wished that youth are welcome in political arena and should express their youthful views and ideas. In his protest against the fascist regime in the centre, he said that government is forcefully trying to impose the new labour codes which are all in favour of the Management, demolishing the old labour laws. He reiterated that the CTUs are not completely against the privatisation but that should be done discussing with the CTUs.

The other panelists also delivered their invaluable speeches and expressed that women are no inferior and they should come forward in large numbers in every sphere of life. They are the pillars of a society and they can change the idea of male dominated society.

Every speaker said about the participation of youth in decision making process and expressed that youth are the backbone of a civilised country and a developing country like India should appreciate and allow their participation in politics as well as other fields of life.

Few selective questions were raised and the panelist happily answered them all thus satisfying the audience.

A cultural program in between was also arranged where recitation, dance program and singing were performed by the women and youth members.

The colourful event finally ended by singing the national anthem.
