The 30th All India Conference of Geological Survey of India was held today (17.02.2023) at Salt Lake.

The INTUC WB Branch President M Qamruzzaman Qamar was the Chief Guest along with other State INTUC Office Bearers.

In his speech, Sri Qamar strongly condemned the implementation of the new labour codes abolishing the labour laws. He said that hundreds of employees are retiring every month but the Government is not at all interested in recruiting the new generation. In every central government organisation or in PSUs, jobs have increased like anything but there’s always a scarcity of manpower. Which is why, organisations have started outsourcing and implementing contractual employment. The current fascist dispensation is more interested in disinvestment and sale of government properties and few crony capitalists friends are making huge profits out of it. Unless this privatisation stops, there will be nothing left called government organisations. He criticised the NPS and reiterated that OPS should come into effect immediately. He thanked the organisers for arranging such a disciplined conference.
