On the call of Garden Reach Congress a public meeting of thousands of Congress supporters was held near Metiaburuj Thana. It was addressed by WBPCC President – Sri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, MP, INTUC state President, Md Qamruzzaman Qamar and Md. Mukhtar, General Secretary, state INTUC and Vice President, WBPCC and other Congress leaders.

The entire public meeting and stage was managed by Tabrez Alam, Sr Secretary, State INTUC and President, Garden Reach Town Congress.

All the speakers criticised the divisive politics of BJP and called upon the public to make BHARAT JORO ANDOLAN led by Rahul Gandhi a grand success and corruption ridden state government was attacked by them.

Mr. Qamar questioned the secular credentials of Mamata Banerjee who has been cheating the minority communities just to grab political power.

Mr. Mukhtar and Tabrez Alam extended thanks and gratitude to people of Garden Reach and Metiaburuj for their participation in huge numbers.

Mr. Qamar, Mukhtar and Tabrez Alam assured Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury to extend all possible help n cooperation to make BHARAT JORO ANDOLAN in days to come. After a long time the participation of public especially women and youths were visible in large number. INTUC believe that the working class would with it’s mighty organizational ability unseated both Modi and Didi in 2024 & 2026 respectively.

The prominent leaders of INC & INTUC Sarvasree D P Ray, Ashutosh Chatterjee, Subhankar Sarkar, Tapas Mazumder Manab Mitra, Dibyendu Mitra, Mrs Sagarika Das, Tapan Agarwal, Mita Chakraborty, Wasim Ansari, Councillor Raja Molla, Rashida Khatun were there in the meeting.
