A condolence and remembrance meeting of our trade union leader Sri Mrinal Kanti Bose, who expired last month, was arranged in Suri, Birbhum today. This condolence meeting was organised by Pulak Roy, Working President of INTUC, Birbhum District Branch at DRDC Hall, Suri from 11 am onwards.
Heartfelt tribute and homage was paid to the bereaved leader by M. Qamruzzaman Qamar, President INTUC West Bengal Branch, Chandan Dey, Treasurer, State INTUC, B K Das & Rajat Dikshit – both State Senior Secretaries, Sanjay Adhikary, former President, DCC, Tapan Saha, General Secretary District INTUC, Advocate Satya Babu, Anarul, Subhash Saha and Nazir Hossain – both the Presidents of Paschim and Purba Bardhaman, Biplab Nag, Shrabonti Singh – President INTUC Women Workers, Arina Singh, Ms Jyotsna Khatun and the representatives from several INTUC affiliated Unions participated and paid homage to the leader.
Mr. Qamar called upon the INTUC leaders to work unitedly and democratically to strengthen the organisation. He also requested to face the challenges thrown by the State and the Central Government. He assured the leaders functioning in Birbhum district with the support of State INTUC, as and when required.
All the Office Bearers and Members of District and Block INTUC extended all their support and cooperation in making the condolence meeting highly successful.
