Today on 12.02.2023, Sunday, District Conference of INTUC Darjeeling District Branch held at Bidhan Bhavan, Siliguri. The conference was presided over by Shri Dilip Das, President of Darjeeljng District INTUC.
Conference was inaugurated by Md Qamruzzaman Qamar, President INTUC-WB Br. by hoisting the INTUC flag.
In his speech Mr. Qamar vehemently protested against the TMC led State Government for their complete ignorance to this District of West Bengal which is the most important Business spot for the other Districts of North Bengal and North Eastern States popular as 7 sisters. He told that in respect of the plantation industry which is presently the largest in the State and situated in this District and surrounding Districts where more than 3 lakhs workers mostly from underprivileged classes are working and badly cheated by the State Government in respect of their Fair Wages and other Socio-economic securities compared to the South Indian States. State Government made the Plantation Workers fool with its misscommitment to provide them “PATTA” of land. He also criticised the State Government for its intentional exploitation of the huge numbers of informal workers in respect of their Fair Wages, other statutory rights who are working at various hotels, lodges, restaurants, transport sector in this District which is World famous Tourist area. He also vehemently protested against the fascist ruler at Centre for their Anti Workers, Anti People, Anti Poor, Anti Employment policies.
Other dignitaries present and delivered their valuable speechs in the conference were Mr. Moni Kumar Darnal, Sushanta Santra, S. K. Banerjee the General Secretaries of State INTUC, Sri Sankar Malakar, President of Darjeeling District Congress Committee.
The INTUC District Presidents of the other Districts of North Bengal like Mrs. Lakshmi Guha from Malda, Sri Bibekananda Bose from Alipurduar, Sri Debabrata Nag from Jalpaiguri, Sri Biswajit Sarkar from Coochbehar, Mr Bashir Ahmed Sultan from Kalimpong, Sri Swapan De Sarkar from North Dinajpur and Sri Shyamal Saha from South Dinajpur were graced the conference alongwith Nirmal Som, Surojit Das, Ashok Halder, Adhwip Ray with their prominent participation.
The conference was re-elected Sri Dilip Das as the District President of INTUC again unanimously and after that the same has been concluded by giving vote of thanks to the chairs and the house.
