M Qamruzzaman Qamar, the State President of INTUC was present today at Cooch Behar district conference. In his deliberation, he criticized the current fascist state government. Attending the conference at Changrabandha on Sunday, he said, “The current Trinamool Congress-led state government is an anti-worker government.” This government has no time to think for the workers and the common people. This government continues to run the Syndicate Raj in various foreign trade centres as well. The government is constantly collecting money in the name of facility portals in sending different goods to Bangladesh. Due to which, thousands of truck traders have fallen into deep trouble. The people will surely give a suitable answer to these in coming years.

According to State President of INTUC, the current state government has not been able to provide any employment in this Cooch Behar district and in the entire state as well. The North Bengal state transport industry is also in a very bad state at present. Many people are worried about the facility systems being introduced by the state government at Changrabandha land port as well. He also said that the next step as far as agitation or sit-down protests are concerned against the state government, will be taken in consultation with the local leadership.

Biswajit Sarkar, the Cooch Behar district president of INTUC said, “We have received a huge response for the conference today. The various demands and problems of workers including Changrabandha land port were also discussed with the state leadership today.”

Following personalities from State INTUC graced the occasion today: Adhwip Ray (VP), Moni Kumar Darnal (GS), S. K. Banerjee (GS) and Mousumi Banerjee (Secretary).

District Presidents present were : Bibekananda Bose (Alipurduar), Dilip Das (Darjeeling) and Debabrata Nag (Jalpaiguri).

Other dignitaries include Sri Subeen Bhowmik & Mrs Priya Roy Chowdhury, AICC Members.

The house unanimously elected Shri Biswajit Sarkar as the President of INTUC Coochbehar District Branch. And the conference was concluded by giving vote of thanks to the chairs and the house.
